Preparing to fly

5:44 pm Toronto time.
2:44 pm Los Angeles time.
7:44 am Saturday Melbourne time.

The American Airline plane I will ride to Los Angela has just slid into gate 12. Through the glass window I see five men wearing neon green vests huddling around an airplane door talking.

After I went through immigration and was headed to security I was pulled aside for some spot tests. My hands, shoes, bags and laptop were swabbed. The results must have been good as next I was whisked through to the front of the security line.

At the cafe past security the sandwiches cost $12.99 on average. Yes, really. And that's for an egg salad sandwich. I wonder what the chickens would think of that.

This plane will take me to Los Angeles where I have a 2 hour stop over before my 14 hour and 33 minute flight to Melbourne.

Preparing for the journey

Friday, August 31st I leave for Australia for 3 months. This blog is for my friends and family to follow me on my journey.

Women executive travelers face challenges men know nothing of, like packing heels.

I like that, don't you? "Packing heels"? It makes me sound kinda dangerous.

Last night was the get-together with my friends at my local. The night before with the team I forged at CSC. I feel blessed and grateful to have so many people wishing me well as I take off on my most wondrous adventure.
